An excellent life story
Marjorie Courtenay-Latimer's obituary doesn't just describe an interesting life well-lived, it has vividly mundane details of the discovery of the coelacanth:
She did not know what it was - her speciality was birds not fish - but she knew that it was unusual. So she and her native assistant, Enoch, transported the 127 lb fish back to the museum in a taxi.
It was high summer and the weather was sultry, so she and Enoch pushed the fish to the local hospital mortuary on a small handcart.

That's what it seems she certainly had. A classy lady, to say the least.
